Three talented underclassmen from Ms. Caulfield’s studio art classes at West Islip have earned a prestigious honor: their artwork has been selected for the 2025 NYSSBA Student Art Exhibit, sponsored by the New York State Art Teachers Association (NYSATA).
Julianne Hall, Megan Murphy, and Skylar Welner will each represent the Lions in this annual showcase, which highlights outstanding student artwork from across New York State. Their work was chosen from a highly competitive pool of submissions, reflecting exceptional creativity, technical skill, and originality. Each student’s piece demonstrates a unique artistic voice, showcasing the diversity of talent nurtured in West Islip’s studio art program.
The exhibit coincides with the New York State School Boards Association’s Annual Convention, taking place in New York City from October 20–22. During the convention, school board members, educators, and other attendees will have the opportunity to view a curated selection of student artwork in person. This recognition not only celebrates the students’ hard work but also highlights the importance of arts education in schools and the impact it has on developing young creative minds.
For those unable to attend in person, the public can explore the virtual gallery, which will remain accessible through December 31. This online platform allows family, friends, and art enthusiasts from across the state to celebrate these emerging artists while showcasing the creative programs offered by New York schools.
