It could’ve been a scene straight out of “A Bronx Tale,” or the next explosive episode of HBO’s latest primetime juggernaut “Task,” but this street saga played out for real in Suffolk County over the weekend.
As Football Sunday buzzed at 1683 Sports Bar & Grille in West Islip on September 14th, a sudden eruption of violence shattered the festivities. Fists flew with ferocious fervor, patrons scattered, and the chaos didn’t end there.
According to Suffolk County Police, the melee spilled across town lines — reaching its bloody crescendo nine minutes and five miles away at the Phillips 66 gas station in Lindenhurst.
By the time the last punch was thrown, the last blade was drawn and the last blood was shed, four bikers were hospitalized with stab wounds, while a fifth was treated at Good Samaritan Hospital for a barrage of blunt-force injuries.
Police have charged seven — all still publicly unnamed — with second-degree rioting; notably, none were held overnight in jail.
Despite all involved being motorcyclists, detectives say gang or club affiliations played no role in the two-town throwdown.
As the investigation continues, officials suggest heftier charges —including assault, weapons possession, or even attempted murder — could be on the horizon.
