This week, Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig announced the completion of a nearly $2 million pavement project in Shirley. As a result, 18 roads have been utterly enhanced.

“This paving project north of Golden Gate Drive built upon resurfacing we completed in the area last year,” said Losquadro. “We continue to move through the Town, improving infrastructure one roadway at a time.”

Drainage maintenance preceded paving. Damaged concrete aprons were replaced, as was worn curbing. Such cost approximately $600,000, according to the Town of Brookhaven.

The following roadways saw total resurfacing: Margin Drive West, Carmen View Drive, Woodchuck Court, Coraci Boulevard, Cotton Tail Court, Fox Hollow Drive, Pheasant Way, Quail Run, Deer Path, Acolade Drive W, Arpage Drive W, Smith Road, Robinwood Drive, Hurstwood Road, Wellwood Drive, Sagewood Drive, Baywood Drive and Thornwood Drive.

Adds Councilwoman Dunne Kesnig: “If we had unlimited budget, all roads in Brookhaven could look as pristine as the newly paved road on Margin Drive West; great job by our highway department.”
