Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack has brought back its weekend Yoga in the Vines program, offering outdoor fitness classes through the end of August amid the vineyard’s scenic landscape.

“Yoga in the Vines offers a unique opportunity to practice wellness and fitness in the serenity of our vineyard,” said instructor Erica Velaquez. “The peaceful landscape shows the versatility and biodiversity of our property, while promoting a balanced lifestyle between enjoyment and endeavor.”

For those with busy schedules, the classes “offer a chance to slow down and reconnect with nature,” while devoting an hour to “optimizing your physical and mental health,” she said.

In June, Yoga in the Vines will be held each weekend, including Saturday, June 14, and Sunday, June 15. Sessions begin at 9 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. at The Wine Stand, located at 3312 Montauk Highway. Reservations are required. Drop-in attendance is $35. Guests may bring their own yoga mats or purchase one on-site.

While the sessions focus on yoga, participants may occasionally encounter elements of barre, dance or Pilates.

“We are not offering any separate, fitness-related programs at this time, however, we are offering select, specialized programs, like the “Mommy & Me” strength class, on Sunday, June 22, at 10 a.m., Velaquez said.

According to Velasquez, the program began in 2013 as part of an effort to create opportunities that support community wellness.

“We were inspired by the beauty of the vineyard and the Sagaponack summer weather, along with the physical space we feel it is important to share,” she said.

She added that the program aligns with the growth of outdoor fitness in recent decades.

“It has become a natural extension of how we invite people to engage with the estate who seek wellness,” Velasquez said.

Participants often find a sense of calm and clarity as they practice among the landscape, sea breeze and morning sky, she said, noting the restorative effect of soft grass underfoot.

“After class, participants often enjoy making a trip over to The Wine Stand to shop to grab some wines or merchandise before the crowds arrive.”

Founded in 1988 by entrepreneur and viticulture enthusiast Christian Wölffer, the vineyard produces what Velasquez described as “high-quality, food-friendly wines with balance and character”—a result of its maritime climate. The vineyard offers a variety of experiences, including tastings and weddings.

Don't Expect Bregman to Pay Off

This week, one of the bigger names in the free agency cycle signed with the Chicago Cubs, and fantasy managers everywhere sighed. Usually, anyone heading to Wrigley Field is viewed as a positive, but for Alex Bregman, more information has emerged suggesting this move could spell trouble for his fantasy outlook. Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.

Futures Bettors Will Be Smiling

The College Football Championship is set, and it pits two of the more unlikely teams against each other. Indiana may have the largest living alumni base in the country, with more than 800,000 graduates, but few expected the Hoosiers to reach this stage. They feature zero five-star recruits and have instead relied on depth, discipline, and consistency while dominating all season long.
