New businesses open in Stony Brook Village with supportive community leaders present

On April 11, 2025, Stony Brook Village in Farmingville, NY, witnessed three ribbon-cutting ceremonies, marking the openings of new and expanding businesses on Main Street. Supervisor Dan Panico and Councilmember Jonathan Kornreich were present to celebrate these new additions along with business owners.

North Shore Injury Lawyer Mark T. Freeley, Esq., Little Cheese, and Georgio’s Coffee Roasters were the focus of the event. Also present were Head of the Harbor Mayor Michael Utevsky, Suffolk County Legislator Steven Englebright, New York State Assemblywoman Rebecca Kassay, and members of the Ward Melville Heritage Organization and Stony Brook Village Center.

Mark T. Freeley, Esq., a personal injury lawyer, opened his office at 111 Main Street, adding to the Long Island legal landscape with his 30 years of experience. Alongside his legal work, Mr. Freeley is recognized for his volunteering efforts with Last Chance Animal Rescue.

Little Cheese, positioned at 127 Main Street, offers artisanal cheeses and accoutrements, focusing on sustainable sourcing. The shop provides custom charcuterie boards and curated selections for various occasions.

Georgio’s Coffee Roasters at 131 Main Street serves small-batch, fresh-roasted specialty coffees sourced through direct trade. The team, leveraging years of coffee industry experience, maintains a commitment to quality and support for farming communities worldwide.

“These openings reflect a continued investment in the vitality of Main Street,” stated Supervisor Panico. “Each of these businesses contributes to the character of downtown Stony Brook and reflects the entrepreneurial spirit we are proud to support.”

Councilmember Kornreich expressed, “Stony Brook Village continues to be a vibrant and interesting place to spend time. The addition of these new businesses is an exciting new chapter and provides even more reasons to make the Village an important community hub!”
