Wolfie advances to round three in SUNY Mascot Madness tournament

Wolfie | Stony Brook

Wolfie, the mascot of Stony Brook University, has secured a victory in the second round of the SUNY Mascot Madness tournament. Wolfie defeated Privateer Pete from Maritime College and will now face Flick from Finger Lakes Community College in the third round.

Fans are encouraged to participate by voting on the SUNY Mascot Madness website during each round. Additionally, starting at 12 pm on Sunday, March 23, votes can be cast through SUNY's Instagram Story, where they will count double for a period of 24 hours.

The Mascot Madness tournament, which began in 2013, is an annual event that pits mascots from across the State University of New York (SUNY) system against each other to determine which one is favored by fans. The competition draws inspiration from the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament.

Wolfie is aiming for his third championship title in this event, having previously won in 2022 and 2023. In both years, Wolfie triumphed over Oakie the Acorn from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in the finals.

Supporters are encouraged to follow and engage with all developments using #wolfie and #MascotMadness on social media platforms.
