Stony Brook hosts symposium on teaching pedagogy

Rose Tirotta-Esposito, CELT director | Stony Brook University

The Stony Brook Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) is set to hold its annual symposium on April 11. This event will provide faculty, staff, and students with the opportunity to learn about and discuss teaching pedagogy.

Now in its third year, the symposium is organized by CELT under the Office of the Provost. The primary goal of this gathering is to showcase various teaching methodologies and encourage faculty members interested in exploring new techniques to integrate them into their classrooms.

"Across the university, our faculty and instructors care deeply about the quality of their instruction and their students’ classroom experiences," said Rose Tirotta-Esposito, CELT director. "Yet we know that it can be challenging for our faculty to find the time to go to conferences off-campus about teaching and learning. With this symposium, CELT is able to bring those kinds of conversations and experts to campus, give our campus experts an opportunity to share, and give our community a chance to explore different methodologies and engage with each other."

The event will take place in Ballroom A of the Student Activities Center. While attendance is free, registration is recommended.
