Services will be at the O.B. Davis Funeral Home in Miller Place on Friday, December 8.
Sill leaves behind his beautiful family: beloved wife Linda of 52 years; his loving daughters Amy and Karyn; son-in-law David; grandchildren Isabel Tobey, William Tobey, Ethan Francois, and Aiden Francois; and Sam and Libby, his fur-children that will miss belly rubs from him. He was predeceased by his siblings, Thomas and Leslie.
Sill was a proud Marine Corps veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was committed to veterans returning from the military, advocating for service members through the Marine Corps League. He was dedicated to preserving the history of his family and his town. Wayne was dedicated to making his community a better place to live in by being affiliated with many organizations, such as the Farmingville Reunion, Earth Day, and the Port Jefferson Station Chamber of Commerce. He also served with the town Parks and Recreation Department as the Secretary to Commissioner Robert Chartuk. Sill enjoyed researching American history by visiting historical sites and learning new information. Besides being a history connoisseur, he enjoyed antiquing, canoeing, and camping.
