The Golden Boot Goes To ...

Luciana Setteducate has won the 2024 USL W League Golden Boot Award. The Stony Brook women's soccer rising senior had an unbelievable season to take home the honor.

Setteducate scored 18 goals in her first season of W League play for the Long Island Rough Riders. The Riders went unbeaten with a 10-0-2 record en route to its first W League postseason victory in the Eastern Conference Semifinal. As a forward, Setteducate started in 10 of the team's 12 matches, ended the year with 18 goals and five assists and she added a goal in the postseason.

"I had an incredible time playing for the Rough Riders this summer and winning the Golden Boot award," Setteducate said. "The support of my talented teammates and motivating coaching staff made it an unforgettable experience that has boosted my confidence for the upcoming fall season."

The Seawolves and Setteducate officially begin the 2024 season on August 15 against Colgate at LaValle Stadium. Stony Brook also hosts Manhattan for an exhibition match on August 5 at 5 p.m. on Long Island.

Record Setting Maggie McCormick Competes at Nationals

McCormick, who has committed to the University of Florida, was honored for her performance at the Nike Cross Country Nationals, one of the most prestigious high school running events in the country.
