The Fred Fusaro Cup Stays In Lake Ronkonkoma

The battle of Sachem was won by Sachem North 42-22.

Sachem North beat Sachem East this past weekend by exploding on offense for 42 points. With that win the Fred Fusaro Cup, which goes to the winner of the Sachem vs. Sachem battle annually, stays in Lake Ronkonkoma this season.

Sachem East took an early lead and went into the second quarter up 7-0, but the 2nd quarter proved to be their undoing. North put up a 21 point scoring flurry as they went into the halftime locker room up 21-7. They also were able to put up 21 points in the second half to cap off their excellent day.

Running back Lucas Singleton led the day setting the tone on the ground for 135 yards and three touchdowns. QB Luke LaRocca was able to be effective through the air with two TD passes as it seemed like everything that North wanted to do offensively worked out.

Sachem North leads the all-time series 9 wins to 3.

The William Floyd girls’ varsity basketball team, led by head coach Rich Sinclair, recently hosted a “Coaches vs. Cancer/Score for a Cure” game against Riverhead to raise money in the fight against cancer.
