The Republicans turned out the party faithful and all of their candidates on the 2024 ballot at a rally that filled an airplane hanger at Calabro Airport in Shirley. Their message to the public in what they’re calling the most consequential election in modern times is Vote, Vote, Vote.

Taking the stage were U.S. Senate candidate Mike Sapraicone, Congressional Reps Andrew Garbarino and Nick LaLota, state Senators Tony Palumbo, Dean Murray, Mario Mattera, Alexis Weik, and senate challenger Teresa Bryant.

On the Assembly side were incumbents Joe DeStefano, Jodi Giglio, Ed Flood, Mike Fitzpatrick, Jarett Gandolfo, Steve Stern, Keith Brown, Mike Durso, Doug Smith, and challengers Steven Kiley, Daniel Mitola, and Joe Cardinale.

The party’s candidates for Brookhaven’s 6th District Court were highlighted: Patricia Blake, Kenneth Lauri, and Evan Tanenbaum, in addition to their Family Court ticket: Carl Copertino and Christopher Brocato.

The Republicans, also running with Conservative support, are looking to deliver for Trump-Vance and keep Suffolk red. New York’s Congressional wins in 2022 helped tip control of the House to the Republicans and wrest the speaker’s gavel from Nancy Pelosi. The National Leadership is looking to the local party to help them to maintain their plurality.

If Trump wins the presidency, but the Democrats take back the House, it is expected that they will attempt to block him from taking office, and if he does, they will immediately try to impeach him.

The Democrats, who hold the majority in both houses of the state Legislature thanks to New York City and the other urban areas, did not have a similar rally in Suffolk.
