On October 27, Councilwoman Jane Bonner attended the Rocky Point Historical Society's 26th Annual Tea held at the North Shore Beach Clubhouse in Rocky Point. The event included a presentation by Debra Scala Giokas, who is the author of a new book about Claire McCardell, an American fashion designer known for her ready-to-wear clothing in the 20th century.
The fundraiser also featured food, homemade cookies prepared by members, and raffle baskets. Councilwoman Bonner was pictured with Suzanne Johnson, president of the Rocky Point Historical Society.
The society offers monthly historic programs that are free and open to the public. Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at the VFW Hall located at 109 King Road in Rocky Point.
