Brookhaven Animal Shelter hosts Halloween dog costume parade with free adoptions

Daniel J. Panico Town Superviso | Town of Brookhaven

The Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is organizing its annual "Howl-o-ween Doggie Costume Parade" on Saturday, October 27, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Children attending the event are encouraged to wear costumes and participate in "Trick or Treating," with opportunities for photos alongside the "costumed canines."

Among the featured dogs will be a Husky dressed as a Frog Princess, a Bulldog styled as a Banana Split, and a Yorkie adorned as a Pumpkin. These adoptable pets are expected to captivate attendees with their charming outfits.

In conjunction with the parade, the shelter is hosting a "Barktoberfest" celebration, offering free adoptions from October 27 to October 31. The adoption package includes neutering or spaying, vaccinations, microchipping, licensing, FIV/FELV testing, flea treatment, and fecal examination.

The Brookhaven Town Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is situated at 300 Horseblock Road in Brookhaven. It operates Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm and on weekends from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. For additional details about the event or adoption process, interested parties can contact the shelter at 631-451-6950 or visit the Town website.
