New Services in 2025 by Brookhaven Town Clerk

To make it easier for residents to get the details on land use and rezoning applications in their neighborhoods, the Clerk has added QR codes to the informational signs required at the sites. Scanned by cell phones, the codes will direct people to www.BrookhavenNY.gov/TownNotices, where they can click on the project they're interested in to learn more.

Brookhaven Animal Shelter hosts Halloween dog costume parade with free adoptions

The Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is organizing its annual "Howl-o-ween Doggie Costume Parade" on Saturday, October 27, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Children attending the event are encouraged to wear costumes and participate in "Trick or Treating," with opportunities for photos alongside the "costumed canines."

Brookhaven Animal Shelter to host Oktoberfest event on September 28

On September 28, the Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center will be featured during Oktoberfest at the Millhouse Inn, located at 284 Mill Road in Yaphank. Doors open at noon. Visitors can meet dogs available for adoption, obtain Matchmaker Forms, get volunteer information, and make donations to support the shelter's animals. Guests will enjoy food, drinks, music, and more.

Councilwoman Bonner visits new playground at Diamond in the Pines Park

Farmingville, NY – On August 20, Councilwoman Jane Bonner met with Coram Civic Association President Kareem Nugdalla and local residents James and Jessica Fanning, along with their children Jack and Penelope and cousin Alicia Cordner, at the new Diamond in the Pines Park playground. Located at 1921 Route 112 in Coram, the park features ball fields, benches, chairs, a gazebo, a multi-purpose field, a playground, restrooms, trails and more.

Is There a New Ace in Town?

The New York Mets have a new ace, and fantasy owners have been accustomed to viewing Freddy Peralta as a near-ace for some time. The move to a more pitcher-friendly park should help, but do not overreach, because the reality is that the lineup around him is roughly the same and the bullpen is likely worse at protecting his leads.
