Elementary students celebrate creativity on International Dot Day

Students in Ms. Strull’s class displayed their dots created on International Dot Day. Second-grade students in Ms. Strull, Mrs. Mocera, and Ms. Verderosa’s classes at William Floyd Elementary School recently celebrated "International Dot Day." They created their own dots using positive and negative space in the school STEM lab with Mrs. Baumiller.

The individuals, ROXANA RAMOS ARGUETA, XENIA MIRANDA RODRIGUEZ, KEVIN CLAROS, IDENCIS CHAVEZ-GAMES, ANNA GRISELDA RIVERA, TERESA RAMOS CLAROS, and YESICA CLAROS RAMOS were arraigned on charges of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree.

Stony Brook University wins Car Free Day competition with record participation

Stony Brook University has been named the 2024 champion of the annual Car Free Day Long Island event. This international event, held every September, encourages people to travel without cars. This year, 892 members of the Stony Brook community pledged to forgo at least one car trip on September 22, opting instead for walking, biking, carpooling, using public transportation, or telecommuting.
