William Floyd Graduates Nearly 800 Seniors

William Floyd High School honored approximately 800 graduates during its 67th Commencement Ceremony, as members of the Class of 2026 received diplomas and officially joined the school's alumni ranks.

The ceremony brought together parents, family members, friends, faculty and district officials to recognize students for completing their high school education.

Student Government President Matthew Danielsen led the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the Presentation of Colors by the William Floyd High School NJROTC under the leadership of Senior Chief Andrew DiDonato. Graduating members of the school chorus, directed by Donia Rivera, performed "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Valedictorian Hannah Schultzer and salutatorian Jordan Hua addressed their classmates before diplomas were presented. Additional remarks were delivered by Board of Education President April Coppola, Superintendent Kevin M. Coster, William Floyd High School Principal Philip Scotto and Floyd Academy Principal John DeBenedetto.

During the ceremony, Coppola recognized members of the graduating class who have enlisted in the United States Armed Forces, acknowledging their decision to begin military service following graduation.

The Mastic Fire Department and the Mastic Beach Fire Department displayed a large American flag behind the commencement stage, providing a backdrop for the ceremony.

William Floyd High School is part of the William Floyd School District, which serves communities including Mastic, Mastic Beach, Shirley, and Moriches. The district is among the largest on Long Island.
