A Mastic Beach man was arrested after Suffolk County Police allegedly discovered child pornography, four assault rifles and multiple high-capacity magazines while executing a search warrant at his home, authorities said.

According to police, detectives assigned to the Digital Forensic Unit received information through the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program that led to an investigation.

Based on that investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for a residence at 52 Cranberry Drive in Mastic Beach.

Police executed the warrant and arrested the home's resident, Brian Tilts, 69.

During the search, detectives allegedly recovered four assault rifles and seven high-capacity magazines from the residence. Authorities also said the investigation resulted in child pornography-related charges against Tilts.

Tilts was charged with Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, four counts of Criminal Possession of an Assault Weapon in the Third Degree, and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree.

Police said Tilts was transported to the Seventh Precinct, where he was being held  pending arraignment.

He was scheduled to appear next in First District Court in Central Islip.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is a nationwide initiative that assists law enforcement agencies in investigating crimes involving the online exploitation of children.

Suffolk County Police said the investigation was initiated after information was received through the program and later developed by members of the department's Digital Forensic Unit.

No additional details about the investigation or the alleged child pornography were released.

The charges against Tilts are accusations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
