Keep Kids Reading All Summer Long

Summer reading can open a new door to adventure. | MMS Library

Summer is a great time to relax, explore new interests, and keep the fun of reading going! Here are five easy ways to help kids stay connected to books all summer long:

1. Let Kids Pick Their Own Books

Graphic novels, joke books, sports stories, spooky tales, Pokémon guides—it all counts! Kids are more excited to read when they choose what interests them. https://communitylibrary-suffc.na.iiivega.com/

2. Read a Little Each Day

Even 10–15 minutes before bed, during car rides, or after camp can help keep reading part of the routine.

3. Try Audiobooks and eBooks Audiobooks are perfect for road trips and quiet time, and your library card gives you access to digital books and more through Libby! https://libbyapp.com/library/livebrary

4. Visit the Library

A trip to the library can spark excitement for reading, new series, fun programs, and discovering favorite authors.

5. Keep Reading Fun

Summer reading shouldn’t feel like homework. Reading together, laughing over silly stories, and exploring favorite topics all help build lifelong readers.
