A 40-year-old woman was seriously injured when a man shot her during a domestic incident on Leigh Street in Greenlawn, Suffolk County police said.
The woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.
The shooter fled the scene.
Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating the incident.
