DeStefano Blasts NYC Bailout Plan

Gov. Hochul has confirmed what we’ve suspected all along: she’s going to let Socialist Democrat Mayor Zohran Mamdani pick the pockets of state taxpayers to the tune of $4 billion to bail out the city’s corrupt finances.

Let’s be crystal clear: This is part of the age-old communist strategy of taking money from one group of people and giving it to another to buy their votes.

This time, it’s the hardworking suburban taxpayers being ripped off to funnel money to the city and the illegal immigrants the Democrats invited in so they can stay in power.

For months, Mamdani and his allies manufactured a so-called “budget crisis” while threatening New Yorkers with massive property tax hikes and fear campaigns. Now we find out the answer was exactly what many of us predicted — raid the wallets of taxpayers across New York State.

This isn’t “partnership.” It’s political extortion.

Families in Suffolk County are already crushed by sky-high taxes, utility bills, food prices, and inflation. They’re struggling to pay mortgages, heat their homes, and save for retirement.

Yet Hochul believes they should now bankroll New York City’s reckless spending, bloated bureaucracy, pension games, and sanctuary-city agenda.

And let’s not ignore the timing. Hochul is running for re-election and desperately trying to appease the far-left socialist wing of her party. So suburban taxpayers are being sacrificed to protect Democrat power in New York City.

Enough is enough.

The people of Long Island should not be forced to subsidize fiscal irresponsibility, political corruption, and failed socialist policies.

Albany Democrats created this mess, and now they want YOU to pay for it. I say No Way
