The William Floyd School District has announced SCOPE Education Services “Shining Stars” for the 2025-26 school year, recognizing their exceptional service and dedication to students.

Cecelia Claudio, a teaching assistant at Tangier Smith Elementary School, received the Support Staff Service Award, while Moriches Elementary School Principal Deirdre Redding and Assistant Principal Nikki Stallone each earned Administrator Service Awards.

District officials said the honorees were selected for their leadership, commitment and lasting impact on the William Floyd school community.

The Board of Education will formally recognize the recipients at upcoming meetings scheduled for April 21 and May 12 at 7 p.m. in the high school library.

Redding, who has served nearly 19 years in Moriches, including eight as principal, oversees a school of about 850 students and 100 staff members.

Known for her collaborative leadership style, she emphasizes shared decision-making and strong school-community partnerships to support student success.

Stallone, assistant principal since 2018, brings instructional expertise and a student-centered approach, supporting teachers with research-based strategies while fostering a welcoming environment for students and families.

Claudio, a 25-year veteran, works in a 15:1 fifth-grade classroom, providing individualized academic support and promoting social-emotional growth among her students.

Officials said her patience, compassion and professionalism have made a lasting difference, while her collaboration with colleagues helps meet diverse student needs.

The district said the awards highlight the vital roles educators and support staff play in shaping student success and strengthening the broader community.

Officials added that the recognition reflects a continued commitment to excellence across all levels of education in the district.

The district encouraged residents to attend the upcoming ceremonies to celebrate the honorees and recognize the dedication that continues to inspire students, staff and families across the community each day and throughout the school year ahead.
