Brookhaven offers free job readiness training ahead of annual job fair

The Brookhaven Division of Economic Development is offering a free Job Readiness Program aimed at helping local job seekers improve their employment prospects. The program consists of three classes, each lasting three hours, scheduled for May 16, May 23, and May 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the second floor Media Room at Brookhaven Town Hall.

John Coverdale, president of the Center for Workplace Solutions, Inc., will lead the sessions. Coverdale brings experience in human resource management, labor and employee relations, higher education, and organizational consulting.

Preference for registration will be given to veterans. The program is open only to Brookhaven residents due to limited space. Interested individuals can register by calling 631-451-6563.

Two weeks after the final class, on June 13, the Division of Economic Development and the Brookhaven Business Advisory Council will host the eighth annual Job Fair at Town Hall. This event provides an opportunity for job hunters to meet with representatives from companies seeking qualified candidates for various positions.
