Brookhaven schedules sixth annual job fair for June 6 at town hall

Daniel J. Panico Supervisor | Town of Brookhaven

The Town of Brookhaven's Division of Economic Development and the Brookhaven Business Advisory Council (BBAC) will host the sixth annual Job Fair on Tuesday, June 6. The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the second floor auditorium at Brookhaven Town Hall, located at One Independence Hill in Farmingville.

The job fair provides an opportunity for job seekers to meet with representatives from local companies seeking to hire for various positions. Last year’s event attracted more than 600 attendees and over 100 company representatives. More than 50 businesses have already registered for this year's fair, representing sectors such as banking, child care, engineering, and sales. Attendees are encouraged to bring resumes and be prepared to speak with potential employers.

For those interested in viewing the list of participating companies or reserving a recruitment table, additional information is available through the town’s Office of Economic Development.

Jobhaven.org is a resource sponsored by the Town of Brookhaven that allows businesses to post job openings and helps residents find employment opportunities within the town. The website offers features including a user-friendly message board where businesses and job seekers can communicate directly, categorized job postings across several industries, resources for small business owners or those planning to start a business in Brookhaven, and links to popular employment websites as well as local company opportunities.

Participation in Jobhaven.org is free for both businesses and residents after registration. Once registered, users can respond directly to job postings via the site’s message board.

The BBAC acts as a liaison between local businesses and town leadership. Its members volunteer their time to assist with information sharing between government officials and the business community, compile data on local enterprises, and develop outreach programs designed to educate business owners about available assistance.

According to the official website, the Town of Brookhaven Town Council focuses on development initiatives that support resident well-being through services like recreational sites and youth programs while promoting safety through events such as this job fair. The council delivers municipal services aimed at community improvements (official website). Panico serves as town supervisor emphasizing responsible development and quality of life enhancements (official website). The town also provides accessible programs for Suffolk County residents (official website).
