CJC Distributors, LLC has filed a lawsuit against multiple logistics companies and individuals, alleging the mishandling and misappropriation of goods valued at more than $1 million. The defendants include Logistify LLC, Diversified Logistics LLC, Star One Transport LLC, Majumder Logistics Inc., and Swadhin C. Majumder.

The dispute centers on a shipment of power tools that CJC Distributors contracted to be transported from Nevada to New York in April 2025. According to the complaint, Logistify was responsible for arranging the transportation, but failed to properly verify the identity of the carrier. As a result, unauthorized parties allegedly obtained shipment details and re-brokered the load without permission.

The goods were picked up by Majumder Logistics using what the complaint describes as a fraudulent Bill of Lading and were diverted to California rather than delivered to their intended destination in New York.

CJC Distributors alleges that Logistify breached its contract by failing to implement secure delivery procedures and protect confidential shipment information. The company claims these failures resulted in financial losses exceeding $1 million, including the value of the goods and related costs. The complaint further alleges that Swadhin C. Majumder knowingly participated in fraudulent conduct by signing documents under false identities and unlawfully diverting shipments.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages of not less than $1,081,133.29 for breach of contract, negligence, fraud, conversion, violations of the Carmack Amendment, misappropriation, and unjust enrichment. CJC Distributors is also seeking punitive damages.

The plaintiff is represented by attorneys Aviva Francis and Rachel Wrubel of Jacobowitz Newman Tversky LLP. The case was filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York under Case ID 2:25-cv-06837.

Don't Expect Bregman to Pay Off

This week, one of the bigger names in the free agency cycle signed with the Chicago Cubs, and fantasy managers everywhere sighed. Usually, anyone heading to Wrigley Field is viewed as a positive, but for Alex Bregman, more information has emerged suggesting this move could spell trouble for his fantasy outlook. Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.

Futures Bettors Will Be Smiling

The College Football Championship is set, and it pits two of the more unlikely teams against each other. Indiana may have the largest living alumni base in the country, with more than 800,000 graduates, but few expected the Hoosiers to reach this stage. They feature zero five-star recruits and have instead relied on depth, discipline, and consistency while dominating all season long.
