The William Floyd School District has issued a reminder to fans about the rules and regulations for attending indoor sporting events. The district aims to provide a safe environment at all home games, matches, and meets across all indoor sports.
According to the guidelines, spectators are required to present valid government-issued identification such as a driver’s license, non-driver ID, learner’s permit, passport, government employee ID, United States military ID, or permanent resident card. Entry will not be permitted without proper identification.
Middle school and elementary students must be accompanied by an adult and supervised throughout the event. Only William Floyd students and students from opposing teams may attend home contests; they must show their school IDs for entry. Students from neighboring districts who are not participating in the competition will not be allowed entry.
All bicycles must be secured at designated entry areas. Spectators will not be allowed to enter after halftime, and all exits are final—reentry is not permitted.
A strict Code of Conduct policy is enforced at these events. "Any spectator who does not follow protocol will be subject to immediate removal from the game and will be banned from further contests at William Floyd." Additionally, all bags and backpacks brought into the venue are subject to search.
Spectators are expected to remain in the stands or bleachers during games. Profanity, verbal abuse, or violent behavior will result in removal from school grounds and possible suspension from future events. "Spectators identified as behaving in a manner unbecoming to William Floyd core values, will be escorted off of school grounds and face possible suspension from future games." At the end of each game, attendees must leave immediately through exits as directed by security staff. Spectators are prohibited from entering the field during or after games.
The district thanked attendees for their cooperation: "Again, thank you for your anticipated cooperation and we look forward to a great day of community and school pride."
