A New York resident has filed a class-action lawsuit against a digital marketing company, accusing it of violating federal telemarketing laws. The complaint was lodged by Umid Hafizi in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York on November 26, 2025, targeting Centerfield Media Parent, Inc., and Centerfield Media Holdings, LLC.
Hafizi alleges that the defendants, operating under the brand AutoQuoteGuide, have been engaging in aggressive and unlawful telemarketing practices. According to the complaint, these companies are accused of sending unsolicited text messages to consumers without their consent and continuing to do so even after recipients have opted out. The lawsuit claims that these actions are in direct violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), which prohibits such communications without prior express consent from consumers. Hafizi states that he received multiple text messages promoting car insurance services from AutoQuoteGuide despite having sent clear opt-out requests. "Defendants’ refusal to honor opt-out requests is indicative of Defendants’ failure to implement a written policy for maintaining a do-not-call list," the complaint asserts.
The plaintiff is seeking injunctive relief to stop these alleged practices immediately and is also pursuing statutory damages for himself and other affected individuals. Specifically, Hafizi seeks up to $1,500 per violation for what he describes as knowing and willful breaches of the TCPA by Centerfield Media's entities. The lawsuit underscores that beyond financial compensation, there is a demand for punitive damages due to the repeated nature of these violations.
Representing Hafizi in this legal battle are attorneys Philip L. Fraietta from Bursor & Fisher P.A., along with Julia K. Venditti and Joshua B. Glatt who are expected to join pro hac vice. The case has been assigned Civil Action No.: 1:25-cv-06594 but details about the presiding judge have not been disclosed yet.
