Stony Brook University's Office of Marketing and Communications has received four awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District II for 2025. CASE, which is marking its 50th anniversary this year, honors achievements in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising, and marketing.

The Stony Brook University Magazine was recognized in the Design: Magazines and Periodicals category for its Spring 2024 and Winter 2024/2025 issues. The magazine is published both in print and online. According to the university, these issues highlighted how Stony Brook continues to develop new initiatives as New York's flagship university.

In the Writing: News/Feature (Less than 1,000 words) category, Robert Emproto was honored for his story “Stony Brook Team Gets Up-Close Look at the Future of Offshore Wind Energy.” The article describes a multidisciplinary team from Stony Brook who visited Block Island to observe wind turbines that replaced five diesel generators previously used to power the island.

Dennis Murray won in the Videos: Student Audience (Long) category for his video “Yarn: An Artist’s Life Reimagined at the Wang Center.” The video focuses on crochet artist Mulyana (Mang Moel), documenting his career and artistic journey. This piece accompanied an SBU News story by Ellen Cooke with photography by John Griffin.

John Griffin also received recognition for his photograph “Commencement Selfie,” taken during Stony Brook’s 2024 Commencement Main Ceremony at LaValle Stadium. The image captured graduates celebrating as confetti fell during the event.

Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.
