Councilwoman Bonner leads recycling and shredding event in Mount Sinai

Jane Bonner Councilwoman District 2 | Town of Brookhaven

On October 4, Councilwoman Jane Bonner organized a community recycling and shredding event at the Rose Caracappa Senior Center in Mount Sinai. The event provided residents with a place to dispose of paper, cardboard, electronics, and unwanted or expired medications. It ran from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and saw participation from 510 vehicles.

By the end of the event, residents had shredded 12,720 pounds of paper, recycled 8,370 pounds of electronic waste, and turned in 17 boxes of unused or expired medications for safe disposal.

Councilwoman Bonner expressed appreciation for those involved, stating, “We’re grateful to our partners for their professionalism and to the many residents who participated. Together we’re building a cleaner, safer Brookhaven.”

The event included support from organizations such as Data-Struction, Arrow Metal & E-Waste Recycling, Suffolk County Deputy Sheriff Dylan Hever, and Suffolk County Correction Officer Investigator Dominick Verni.

Additional recycling events are scheduled in the Town of Brookhaven. Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig will host an event on October 25 at William Floyd High School South Parking Lot, and Councilman Michael Loguercio will host another on November 1 at South Country Library. Don't Expect Bregman to Pay Off

This week, one of the bigger names in the free agency cycle signed with the Chicago Cubs, and fantasy managers everywhere sighed. Usually, anyone heading to Wrigley Field is viewed as a positive, but for Alex Bregman, more information has emerged suggesting this move could spell trouble for his fantasy outlook. Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.

Futures Bettors Will Be Smiling

The College Football Championship is set, and it pits two of the more unlikely teams against each other. Indiana may have the largest living alumni base in the country, with more than 800,000 graduates, but few expected the Hoosiers to reach this stage. They feature zero five-star recruits and have instead relied on depth, discipline, and consistency while dominating all season long.
