William Floyd School District enforces updated football game attendance rules

The William Floyd School District has continued to enforce updated attendance procedures for varsity football games at the Lincoln Avenue Sports Complex, a policy that began last year. The district says these measures are intended to ensure safety and an enjoyable experience for all spectators.

According to the district, all attendees must present a valid government-issued identification for entry. Acceptable forms include a driver’s license, non-driver ID, learner’s permit, passport, government employee ID, United States military ID, or a permanent resident card. Those without proper identification will not be allowed in.

Students from middle and elementary schools are required to attend with an adult and must remain under supervision during the event. Only students from William Floyd and the opposing team may attend home games; they must show their school IDs at entry. Students from other districts not involved in the competition will not be permitted.

The district also prohibits bicycles near the field; they must be locked up at designated entry areas. Entry after halftime is not allowed under any circumstances, and anyone leaving after the third quarter will not be readmitted.

Spectators are subject to a strict code of conduct. "Any spectator who does not follow protocol will be subject to immediate removal from the game and will be banned from further contests at William Floyd," according to district guidelines. All bags and backpacks brought into the stadium may be searched.

Guests and community members are expected to stay in the stands or bleachers during play. The use of profanity, verbal abuse, or violent behavior is strictly forbidden. "Spectators identified as behaving in a manner unbecoming to William Floyd core values, will be escorted off of school grounds and face possible suspension from future games." At game end, everyone is required to exit immediately through designated exits as directed by staff; no one is permitted on the field during or after play.

The district concluded its announcement by thanking fans for their cooperation: "Again, thank you for your anticipated cooperation and we look forward to a great day of community and school pride."
