Suffolk County police officer George Trimigliozzi, Frank Saggio, and Dana Ciardullo pleaded guilty to operating two brothels in Suffolk County over a period of four years.
Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney today announced that Frank Saggio, 61, of West Islip; George Trimigliozzi, 56, of Islip; and Dana Ciardullo, 33, of North Bellmore, pleaded guilty before Supreme Court Justice Timothy P. Mazzei to Enterprise Corruption, Promoting Prostitution in the Third Degree, and other related charges, for running multiple brothels in Suffolk County. Trimigliozzi pled guilty to additional, unrelated charges stemming from a subsequent investigation.
“These guilty pleas represent accountability for those who violated the public’s trust and engaged in organized criminal activity,” said District Attorney Tierney. “While it is always disappointing when public servants betray their oaths, these resolutions demonstrate that my office will ensure serious consequences for corrupt actions.”
According to court documents and the defendants’ admissions during their guilty plea allocutions, between October 2019 and June 2024, Saggio led a criminal enterprise that profited from the systematic promotion of prostitution at two locations in Suffolk County.
The operation included locations at 6089 Sunrise Highway in Holbrook operating as Suite 3 – American Girls Spa, Suite 4 – Spa, and Suite 5 – Reiki for Healing, as well as a location in West Babylon known as the Tunnel of Love.
Saggio admitted to operating the prostitution enterprise between October 2019 and June 2024 in Suffolk County in which he employed his co-defendants as managers. Saggio further admitted that he required sex workers to pay substantial monthly fees ranging from $6,000 (Holbrook location) to $12,000 (West Babylon location).
Trimigliozzi, an 18-year veteran of the Suffolk County Police Department, served as co-manager of the Suite 3 Holbrook location along with co-defendant Steven Arey, a 26-year employee of the Islip School District. Trimigliozzi abandoned his police duties in March 2021, when he responded to a robbery at his brothel location, driving nearly 90 mph in his patrol car, while knowing he was unauthorized by the Suffolk County Police Department to abandon his assigned post.
Trimigliozzi pleaded guilty to charges stemming from two separate indictments. Trimigliozzi pleaded guilty to Promoting Prostitution in the Third Degree, a Class D felony, and Official Misconduct, a Class A misdemeanor. On that indictment, he will be sentenced to a total of two years of incarceration.
Trimigliozzi also pleaded guilty to charges resulting from a second indictment related to his Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree (of a woman in his personal vehicle), a Class A misdemeanor, and will be sentenced to 30 days of incarceration to run concurrent with the two-year sentence under his first indictment. Trimigliozzi is currently suspended without pay from the Suffolk County Police Department.
Saggio pleaded guilty to Enterprise Corruption, a Class B felony. As part of Saggio’s plea agreement, he agreed to pay $1,875,000 in forfeiture and will serve two to six years in prison.
Ciardullo, Saggio’s girlfriend, managed the West Babylon location known as Tunnel of Love.
Ciardullo pleaded guilty to Promoting Prostitution in the Third Degree, a Class D felony. Ciardullo will be sentenced to six months of incarceration followed by five years of probation.
Arey was indicted and charged with Enterprise Corruption and 27 counts of Promoting Prostitution in the Third Degree.
This case is being prosecuted by Deputy Bureau Chief Laura de Oliveira and Bureau Chief Kevin Ward of the Public Corruption Bureau, and the investigation was conducted by investigators assigned to the District Attorney’s Public Corruption Squad.
