Brookhaven Town provides school supplies to over 1,600 children through INTERFACE program

Brookhaven Town’s annual Back to School Drive, organized by the Department of General Services’ Youth Bureau Division through its INTERFACE Program, provided backpacks and essential school supplies to more than 1,600 children in need this year. The drive is part of an ongoing effort to help local students start the academic year with necessary materials.

Supervisor Daniel J. Panico commented on the initiative’s impact. “This annual drive ensures that children throughout Brookhaven Town begin the school year prepared and confident, with the tools they need to be ready to succeed,” said Supervisor Panico. “I want to thank the residents, local businesses and community partners whose generosity make this effort possible, as well as the Youth Bureau staff for their continued dedication.”

The INTERFACE Program operates as a partnership among community members, corporate sponsors, and the Town of Brookhaven. Each year, nearly 100 corporations, not-for-profit organizations, and community groups participate in INTERFACE to provide goods and services while addressing social issues within the town.

More information about INTERFACE can be found on the Youth Bureau’s Community Programs page or by calling 631-451-8026.

Don't Expect Bregman to Pay Off

This week, one of the bigger names in the free agency cycle signed with the Chicago Cubs, and fantasy managers everywhere sighed. Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.

Futures Bettors Will Be Smiling

The College Football Championship is set, and it pits two of the more unlikely teams against each other. Indiana may have the largest living alumni base in the country, with more than 800,000 graduates, but few expected the Hoosiers to reach this stage. They feature zero five-star recruits and have instead relied on depth, discipline, and consistency while dominating all season long.
