Stony Brook alumni launch Wolves of Wisdom program for incoming students

Stony Brook University alumni have launched the Wolves of Wisdom program to support incoming students as they begin their college journey. The initiative encourages alumni from various graduating classes to share advice and insights aimed at helping new students adjust to campus life and make the most of university resources.

Over 120 alumni, representing classes from 1964 through 2025, participated by offering congratulations and guidance to both first-year and transfer students. Karen Hollander Schwarz, a member of the Class of 1969, emphasized the importance of building connections with peers: “Allow yourself to meet and get to know people from different backgrounds than yours,” she said. “Allow yourself to spread your wings. Be empathetic. Grow and enjoy.”

Christina Geraci, a 2004 graduate and current Alumni Association Board member, encouraged active involvement on campus: “As you begin your journey at Stony Brook, I encourage you to get involved and try new things! Stony Brook has so much to offer. Whether it’s an interesting class on a topic you’ve always been curious about or an exciting new club, you never know where stepping out of your comfort zone might take you.”

The Wolves of Wisdom program is part of ongoing efforts by Stony Brook University alumni to foster a supportive environment for new students.
