Brookhaven officials announce completion of 18-road paving project in Shirley

Karen Dunne Kesnig Councilwoman District 6 | Town of Brookhaven

Brookhaven Town officials have announced the completion of a major paving project covering 18 roads in Shirley. The work was led by Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig.

Before repaving, crews conducted drainage maintenance and replaced damaged concrete aprons and curbing. This preparatory work cost about $600,000. The resurfacing included Margin Drive West, Carmen View Drive, Woodchuck Court, Coraci Boulevard, Cotton Tail Court, Fox Hollow Drive, Pheasant Way, Quail Run, Deer Path, Acolade Drive W, Arpage Drive W, Smith Road, Robinwood Drive, Hurstwood Road, Wellwood Drive, Sagewood Drive, Baywood Drive and Thornwood Drive. The total cost for the entire project reached approximately $1.9 million.

“This paving project north of Golden Gate Drive built upon resurfacing we completed in the area last year,” said Losquadro. “We continue to move through the Town, improving infrastructure one roadway at a time.”

Councilwoman Dunne Kesnig added: “If we had an unlimited budget all roads in Brookhaven could look as pristine as the newly paved road on Margin Drive West; great job by our highway department.”

Don't Expect Bregman to Pay Off

This week, one of the bigger names in the free agency cycle signed with the Chicago Cubs, and fantasy managers everywhere sighed. Usually, anyone heading to Wrigley Field is viewed as a positive, but for Alex Bregman, more information has emerged suggesting this move could spell trouble for his fantasy outlook. Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.

Futures Bettors Will Be Smiling

The College Football Championship is set, and it pits two of the more unlikely teams against each other. Indiana may have the largest living alumni base in the country, with more than 800,000 graduates, but few expected the Hoosiers to reach this stage. They feature zero five-star recruits and have instead relied on depth, discipline, and consistency while dominating all season long.
