On June 18th, Councilwoman Jane Bonner joined the New York Blood Center (NYBC) to honor the Rocky Point Knights of Columbus Council 5814 for their contributions in blood donations. A certificate was presented by Councilwoman Bonner on behalf of the Town of Brookhaven, recognizing the organization's significant commitment to saving lives through over 2,000 blood donations since 2000.

The ceremony took place at the Knights of Columbus hall on Route 25A and included attendees such as community members, local media, and NYBC representatives. The event highlighted the positive impact these donations have had on more than 6,000 patients across the region. An additional blood drive held during the event collected 42 pints of blood, potentially saving another 126 lives.

Councilwoman Bonner stated, “It is an honor to recognize the Rocky Point Knights of Columbus for their unwavering dedication to supporting our local and regional healthcare system.” She praised their efforts that have contributed significantly to life-saving initiatives.

The Knights of Columbus Council 5814 has maintained a long-standing partnership with NYBC, regularly hosting blood drives essential for meeting ongoing donation needs.
