William Floyd High School announces Regents Exam schedule for June

Jennifer Heitman Board Member | William Floyd School District

William Floyd High School has announced the schedule for the New York State Regents Examinations, which will take place on June 10, June 11, June 17, June 18, June 20, June 24, and June 25. The school will implement a specific testing schedule and a modified transportation plan to accommodate these exams. The last day of regular classes is set for June 16, 2025.

The school will be closed on Thursday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

Students are reminded of several important guidelines due to the seriousness of the testing administration and the need to maintain optimal test-taking conditions. "Students will be searched upon entering the building using our detectors," states the announcement. Additionally, students are advised to bring only necessary test materials as "all backpacks and pocketbooks will be confiscated."

According to New York State Education Department regulations: "NO cell phones or electronic equipment will be allowed in the building." Any such items brought into the premises will be confiscated and can only be retrieved by a parent or guardian at the High School Main Office between 8 am and 3:30 pm.

Furthermore, "the use of any communications device is strictly prohibited" during exams. If a student enters with a cell phone or electronic device, their examinations will be invalidated. Students must ensure they do not have any electronic devices on exam days.

There are no opportunities for make-up exams; students must attend on specified dates and times. They are required to remain for the entire three-hour duration allotted for all Regents exams.

Cold grab-and-go food options will be available before exams begin. For those who rely on bus transportation, morning exam attendees should arrive at their usual bus stop time while afternoon exam attendees should arrive by 11:15 am.

Passing multiple Regents examinations is mandatory for receiving a high school diploma from New York State Education Department. Attendance at these exams is expected as part of graduation requirements. Students or guardians with questions about state-mandated testing should contact their child’s guidance counselor.

For further concerns regarding this announcement's details, individuals may call either the high school office at 874-1177 or reach out to their child’s guidance counselor at 874-1130.
