Leisure Village donates $11K to St. Jude's Hospital; receives town appreciation

Leisure Village Senior Club | Town of Brookhaven

Farmingville, NY - On June 2, Brookhaven Town Councilwoman Jane Bonner participated in a presentation at Leisure Village where the Leisure Village Senior Club donated $11,000 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The event included attendees such as Gail Powell, Lil Nociforo, St. Jude Representative Stacy Bakker, Councilwoman Jane Bonner, Kathy Senatore, Ellen Fisher, and Donna Bram.

Councilwoman Bonner presented the club with an official Town Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of their fundraising efforts and contribution. The donation resulted from months of dedication and teamwork by the senior residents who aimed to support children battling cancer and other serious illnesses.

“It’s incredibly heartwarming to see the Leisure Village Senior Club come together for such an important cause,” said Councilwoman Bonner. “Their selflessness, community spirit, and generosity are truly inspiring, and I was honored to recognize their efforts on behalf of the Town of Brookhaven.”

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is recognized for its work in treating childhood cancer and other severe diseases. Donations like this ensure families do not receive bills for treatment or associated costs so they can focus on their child's recovery.

Don't Expect Bregman to Pay Off

This week, one of the bigger names in the free agency cycle signed with the Chicago Cubs, and fantasy managers everywhere sighed. Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.

Futures Bettors Will Be Smiling

The College Football Championship is set, and it pits two of the more unlikely teams against each other. Indiana may have the largest living alumni base in the country, with more than 800,000 graduates, but few expected the Hoosiers to reach this stage. They feature zero five-star recruits and have instead relied on depth, discipline, and consistency while dominating all season long.
