Brookhaven Town secures sponsors for 2025 recycling events

Jonathan Kornreich Council District 1 | Town of Brookhaven

Farmingville, NY - Supervisor Daniel J. Panico of Brookhaven Town has announced that Suffolk Credit Union will sponsor the town's 2025 recycling events. The announcement was made on April 7, with a $5,000 contribution from the credit union to support the initiative.

This contribution will assist in hosting thirteen E-Waste, Paper Shredding, and Drug Take Back events throughout the town. Residents will have the opportunity to safely dispose of electronic waste, shred documents, and recycle old prescription medications at these events, which also accommodate cardboard recycling. All shredded paper collected will be recycled.

Along with Suffolk Credit Union, the initiative has three other sponsors: Gershow Recycling, Maggio Environmental, LLC, and Winters Bros. – A WM Company. Each sponsor has contributed $5,000 towards this environmental program.

Supervisor Panico commented, "These events are about making responsible recycling easy and accessible for every Brookhaven resident. We’re thankful to Suffolk Credit Union and our partners for helping bring these important services directly into our communities."

The recycling events are open to all Brookhaven Town residents. For additional details, visit www.BrookhavenNY.gov.

The announcement included a photo of several local officials, including Councilman Neil Manzella, Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig, and several others. The recycling events for 2025 have been scheduled and will be held in various locations across the town, with times and dates specified for each district.
