Dress for Success offers free job readiness program for local women

On April 23, Dress for Success Brookhaven will begin a Career EDGE Job Readiness series. The free program assists unemployed and under-employed women by providing professional skills, accelerating job searches, and building confidence through weekly training, career coaching, and networking. Classes will occur on Wednesday evenings, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on April 23, 30, May 7, 14 and 21, 2025, at Sachem Library, 150 Holbrook Road, Holbrook, NY. Interested women can register at BrookhavenNY.gov/CareerEdge.

The Career EDGE Job Readiness program offers seminars for job-seeking women. Participants have the chance to engage with professional women, businesspeople, and expert speakers. The program aims to support local women ready to transition to employment and is presented by Dress for Success Brookhaven at no cost.

During the five-week series, attendees will have the opportunity to increase job-seeking skills, create personal brands, learn job application strategies, build resumes, prepare for interviews, receive career coaching, partake in a professional suiting experience by Dress for Success, explore networking on LinkedIn, and join a supportive community.
