The South Shore Press Awaits a Response From the William Floyd School District

This week the South Shore Press brought you this exclusive story on multiple parents and one member of the William Floyd High School Girls' Track Team claiming that a biological boy who identifies as a girl is competing on the Girls' team.

This appears to be a direct violation of President Trump's Executive Order that threatens to withhold federal funds from schools that allow biological boys to compete on girls' teams.

The South Shore Press contacted officials at the William Floyd School District to comment on our report, but as of this posting they have not responded and are refusing to comment.

As soon as a response is given, our story will be updated.

In the meantime, in the spirit of openness and transparency, the South Shore Press is publicly posting the seven questions posed to the William Floyd School District:

1) What is the school's position on President Trump's Executive Order that cuts federal funding to school districts that do not comply with his restrictions on girls' sports?

2) What are the district’s concerns about losing federal funding, in light of President Trump’s executive order that reads:

“Therefore, it is the policy of the United States to rescind all funds from educational programs that deprive women and girls of fair athletic opportunities, which results in the endangerment, humiliation, and silencing of women and girls and deprives them of privacy.  It shall also be the policy of the United States to oppose male competitive participation in women’s sports more broadly, as a matter of safety, fairness, dignity, and truth.”

3) What actions were taken by the District to alleviate the concerns of parents who do not want a trans/biological male changing in the same locker room as girls at William Floyd High School?

4) As of Tuesday, March 25th, what is the status of William Floyd High School’s policy pertaining to allowing a trans/biological male track member competing on the girls’ team?

5) What accomodations, if any, are being made for biological female student-athletes changing clothing in the same locker room as a biological male?

6) When did the District first become aware that a biological boy (whose name we are not publishing) was competing on a girls team at the JV or Varsity levels?

7) Two concerned parents spoke to the South Shore Press, along with a member of the Girls' Varsity Track team, about a biological male competing on the girls' varsity track team. How does the District respond to their concerns about this situation?

Don't Expect Bregman to Pay Off

This week, one of the bigger names in the free agency cycle signed with the Chicago Cubs, and fantasy managers everywhere sighed. Usually, anyone heading to Wrigley Field is viewed as a positive, but for Alex Bregman, more information has emerged suggesting this move could spell trouble for his fantasy outlook. Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.

Futures Bettors Will Be Smiling

The College Football Championship is set, and it pits two of the more unlikely teams against each other. Indiana may have the largest living alumni base in the country, with more than 800,000 graduates, but few expected the Hoosiers to reach this stage. They feature zero five-star recruits and have instead relied on depth, discipline, and consistency while dominating all season long.
