Brookhaven honors local women with recognition awards


2025 Women's Recognition Awards | Town of Brookhaven

Supervisor Daniel J. Panico and the Brookhaven Town Board recently honored the recipients of the 2025 Women's Recognition Awards during the 39th Annual Women's Recognition Night at Brookhaven Town Hall. 

The event, organized by the Town's Office of Women's Services under the Department of General Services, celebrated individuals nominated by community members for their excellence in various fields.

The award winners are residents or workers in Brookhaven and were chosen based on resumes and letters of recommendation reviewed by Brookhaven's Women's Advisory Board. 

The recipients include Mary Beth Lichtneger for Business, Lily Stolzberg for Communications, Jennifer Hernandez for Community Services Professional, Debra L. Engelhardt for Community Service Volunteer, Leah Topek-Walker for Education, Leslie A. Mitchel for Government, Christina Burke in Health Care Provider from Stony Brook Medicine, Megan O’Donnell in Law Enforcement from the District Attorney’s Office, Stephanie A. Buffa in Legal Profession, Dr. Rachel Davis in Medicine from Stony Brook Medicine, and Dr. Gabriella Carini in Science.

Special Commendation Awards were also presented by members of the Town Board to Annette Eaderesto from Supervisor Daniel J. Panico; Dr. Jennifer Quinn from Councilman Jonathan Kornreich; Bea Ruberto from Councilwoman Jane Bonner; Linda Miller from Councilman Neil A. Manzella; Isabella Rossellini from Councilman Michael A. Loguercio; Mary Bailey from Councilman Neil Foley; and Maura Spery from Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig.

Is There a New Ace in Town?

The New York Mets have a new ace, and fantasy owners have been accustomed to viewing Freddy Peralta as a near-ace for some time.
