Kevin Meyer Board Member | William Floyd School District

William Floyd High School juniors Jackson Seifert and Colin Smith have been recognized with All-Eastern honors by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). This accolade is considered one of the most prestigious that a high school musician can receive in the United States.

All-Eastern honorees are chosen from a competitive group of top high school student-musicians from the eastern United States, which includes 11 states, Washington D.C., and Europe (Department of Defense schools). Both Jackson and Colin will travel to Hartford, Connecticut, from April 24-27 to perform alongside other leading high school musicians from the east coast. The William Floyd School District expressed pride in both students for their achievements.

The National Association for Music Education is one of the largest arts education organizations globally and uniquely addresses all aspects of music education. NAfME advocates at various levels, provides resources for teachers, parents, and administrators, hosts professional development events, and offers numerous opportunities for students and teachers. For over a century, it has supported music educators nationwide. The NAfME Eastern Region comprises Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Europe.
