The Stony Brook University cheerleading and dance teams, along with their mascot Wolfie, are set to participate in the 2025 UCA/UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team Championships. This prestigious event will be held from January 17-19 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.

The SBU dance team comprises 16 athletes, primarily underclassmen, with one returning senior. The team includes several members who are part of honor societies and have made the dean’s list. Recently, they competed at the Long Island Dance Team Association competition at Nassau Community College on January 11, where they secured second place overall in Pom.

Aside from supporting SBU football and basketball games, the Stony Brook cheerleading team annually competes in the UCA nationals in both DI All Girl Game Day and Traditional categories. Additionally, Wolfie will compete for best mascot at this year's UCA/UDA event.
