Stony Brook University Interim President Richard McCormick extended holiday greetings to the university community through an annual video message. The theme of the message emphasized the unity within Stony Brook's diverse community, highlighting shared traditions and individual contributions.

The video was shared with the campus on December 16. In his message, McCormick stated:

"There's something very special about this time of year. The season brings us together with loved ones and friends. Time slows down for a brief, yet much needed pause. These precious moments afford us the opportunity to reflect on our lives with gratitude, and to look ahead with optimism and purpose."

He expressed gratitude for being part of the Stony Brook community, saying: "I am so thankful to be a part of this wonderful Stony Brook campus community, and I mean that with all my heart." He noted that while everyone is different, rich traditions unite them.

McCormick concluded his message by wishing everyone a happy holiday season: "From our family to yours, we wish you a happy and peaceful holiday season. Thank you for all you do for Stony Brook."

The message ended with a New Year's greeting from the McCormick family: "Happy New Year, Seawolves!"
