Ronkonkoma Fire Department Puts Out Building Fire

On Tuesday November 14th, 2023 at approximately 17:14hrs the Ronkonkoma Fire Department was activated for a reported building fire in the vicinity of Hawkins Avenue and Portion Road, in Ronkonkoma. Units arrived and discovered an abandoned gas station with heavy fire on the 1/4 corner, a working fire was then activated.

Multiple departments were called to the scene including Holbrook, Holtsville, Farmingville, Lakeland, Nesconset, Centereach, and Central Islip. Units operated under the command of Third Assistant Chief Mike White. The alarm was placed under control at 18:33hrs. There were no reported injuries. The fire was under investigation by the Suffolk County Police Arson Squad and the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshals Office.
