Shirley Man Plants Trump Sign Garden

Some people keep their politics to themselves, but not Bob Belonzi of Shirley—he puts it all out there for the world to see. Drivers passing by his house on William Floyd Parkway can’t miss his signs supporting Donald Trump and making his thoughts known on his opponent, Joe Biden.

“I was interviewed on CNN in 2015 predicting Trump would win, and I’m confident that he will do it again in 2024,” the semi-retired Republican said. “He’s a businessman, a smart guy; he’s the only one who can save our country.”

Belonzi’s not alone in his patriotism—he’s joined by his wife, Stephanie Barone, who shares his view that Trump can make America great again.

“He really cares about people,” Barone said, referencing the speech by his granddaughter at the convention. “Here’s a guy who’s the president of the United States, and he’s calling his grandkids to see how they’re doing in school. People who don’t like him and attack him are not seeing the real person that he is.”

Following the assassination attempt in Milwaukee, Belonzi believes Trump is setting a tone for unity. “He’s a human being, a person who wants to do the right thing for all the people. He called on us to help him fight the bureaucracy in Washington that seems to do everything against the hardworking people of this country.”

“You may not like his style, but he gets the job done,” Barone went on. “And for all of the women, I say this: Trump will make this country safer for your families and more prosperous.”

It’s a constant din of horns as drivers pass Belonzi’s sign garden, some of them handmade, and respond to one of his favorites, “Honk for Trump.”
