Blood Drive Nets 23 Pints as Supply Remains Under Constant Need

Residents rolled up their sleeves and gave a generous donation of blood during Nesconset Day in Smithtown.

“They collected 23 pints of blood, not bad for a hot summer day in late August,” reported Suffolk Legislator Leslie Kennedy, who promoted the drive. She noted that over 2,000 pints were donated by the community during street fairs and other events since 2004. “These events really do make a difference,” Kennedy said.

The New York Blood Center recently launched a new blood donation experience with the introduction of state-of-the-art Blood Donation Pods. These portable and sustainable Pods are designed to provide a more comfortable, efficient, and convenient donation experience. To donate, go to www.nybc.org
