The Auxiliary Services Association (ASA) has announced the winners of the Shop Red T-Shirt Design Contest at Stony Brook University. Olivia Qiu and Emma Loffredo emerged as the victors, with their designs chosen by votes from the campus community. These limited edition T-shirts will soon be available for purchase at Shop Red West and Southampton Cafe.

Both students will receive $5 for each shirt sold, allowing them to see their creative visions come to life with every sale. Diana Kubik, executive director of the Auxiliary Services Association, stated, “We developed this t-shirt contest to give students a chance to show the SBU community what Stony Brook means to them through their creative lens.”

The contest featured diverse submissions from several students: Alexandra Jovic ‘25, Jordan Yando ‘25, John Grijalva ‘26, Olivia Qiu ‘25, Michelle Shum ‘25, and Emma Loffredo ‘25. Each design offered a unique perspective on Stony Brook pride.

Olivia Qiu's design was inspired by comic book panels and features Wolfie alongside notable campus locations such as the SAC, Wang Center, and Zebra Path. "I wanted to create a fun and dynamic design while tying in themes about the university," she explained.

Emma Loffredo drew inspiration from her work with aquatic animals in Shinnecock Bay. Her design includes a fish wearing a Stony Brook hat symbolizing marine life and school spirit at the Southampton campus.

The ASA is dedicated to fostering student creativity. They recently hosted a Paint Night event led by student artist Diana Raden '25. In spring 2025, they plan to present an artisan market showcasing student entrepreneurs' handmade creations.

The Shop Red T-Shirt Design Contest celebrates Stony Brook's creative minds and diverse talents. The winning designs can be viewed at Shop Red West or purchased online at sbushopred.com later this month.
