Public meeting set for Mastic Beach road revitalization project

Neil A. Manzella Council District 3 | Town of Brookhaven

Farmingville, NY – On November 14, a public informational meeting will be held regarding the Mastic Beach Neighborhood Road Revitalization Project. Supervisor Dan Panico and Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig will host the event alongside The Beechwood Organization, the master developer for the project. The meeting is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the William Floyd High School Auditorium in Mastic Beach.

The agenda includes an update on the project's progress and a presentation of the proposed land use plan for redevelopment. Attendees will have opportunities to visit various break-out stations where representatives from Beechwood and the town will provide detailed information about the plan and collect public feedback.

Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Dan Panico expressed his commitment to improving Mastic Beach, stating, “This project will write a new positive chapter in the history of Mastic Beach, the community in which I grew up. I am 100% committed to raising the quality of life for all and seeing this project through with the input of the community.”

Councilwoman Dunne Kesnig emphasized the significance of this step in redevelopment efforts: “This is an important and significant next step in the much-needed redevelopment of Neighborhood Road,” she said. “Once we have established the land use plan, the Town and Beechwood will be able to move forward with many different tasks that lie ahead before an official groundbreaking.”

Steven Dubb, Principal and President of The Beechwood Organization, highlighted their focus on community involvement: “We are getting closer to bringing to life the new Neighborhood Road development. Our priority over the last few years has been to gain an understanding from people who live, work and own in Mastic Beach of what they would like to see happen. We’re now looking forward to share [sic]the plan we’ve formulated, for which we also welcome feedback.”
