Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced today that Danny St. Louis, 43, of Bay Shore, has been indicted on three counts of sex trafficking and other related charges for the alleged commercial sexual exploitation of an additional female victim. St. Louis is already facing 28 felony and misdemeanor charges on a separate indictment for alleged sex trafficking and other offenses.
“These new charges stem from a brave victim who came forward following our initial announcement,” said District Attorney Tierney. “In my first year in office, I launched a comprehensive Human Trafficking Unit (HEAT) to perpetually combat this disgraceful modern-day slave trade. I remain committed to seeking justice for all victims of sex trafficking and urge any other potential victims and witnesses to please come forward. Our office stands ready to support you.”
The investigation revealed that on July 15, 2023, prior to his pending human trafficking indictment, St. Louis was pulled over for a seat belt violation and allegedly found in possession of cocaine. At that time, four cellphones were recovered from him.
A human trafficking investigation was subsequently opened on St. Louis, leading to his indictment along with a co-defendant for various sex trafficking and sexual assault charges in April 2024.
Following the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office’s announcement regarding those charges, an additional victim reported to the Suffolk County Police Department that St. Louis had sexually exploited her from January through February 2024. The new victim indicated she was required to perform sexual acts with buyers in exchange for money which she then had to give to St. Louis, who allegedly provided her with small quantities of crack cocaine and fentanyl.
During the initial human trafficking investigation, another victim indicated she communicated with St. Louis through cellphones he possessed when arrested in July 2023. A search of these cellphones uncovered three videos depicting a then-13-year-old engaged in sexual performances.
On September 12, 2024, St. Louis was arraigned before Supreme Court Justice Timothy P. Mazzei on several charges including:
- Three counts of Sex Trafficking (Class B felonies)
- One count of Promoting Prostitution in the Fourth Degree (Class A misdemeanor)
- One count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (Class D felony)
- Three counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child (Class E felony)
- One seat belt violation (traffic infraction)
Justice Mazzei ordered St. Louis held without bail during the pendency of the case; he is due back in court on October 17, 2024, facing up to 25 years in prison if convicted on the top count. He is represented by Ian Fitzgerald Esq.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Dana Castaldo and Zachary Kelly from HEAT and Assistant District Attorney Alyssa Costantino from the Narcotics Bureau.
The investigation involved members of HEAT, the Fifth Precinct Anti-Crime Unit of the Suffolk County Police Department as well as Detective Investigators from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
