Suffolk Sheriff's DWI Team Earns Statewide Recognition
The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office S.P.I.D.R.E. Team has earned statewide recognition for its relentless efforts to keep impaired drivers off local roadways, with the elite enforcement unit receiving the Impaired Driving Enforcement Unit Recognition Award from the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Some of Suffolk County's finest student-athletes were recognized recently at the 26th Annual Butch Dellecave Awards, held at Villa Lombardi's in Holbrook. Named in memory of the late Gaetano "Butch" Dellecave — a legendary educator, coach and official. The program has enjoyed a 26-year partnership with Suffolk County school districts and celebrates seniors who have excelled in athletics, academics and community service.
USA Soccer Keeps Winning
World Cup fever has officially taken hold across the United States, and Team USA is giving fans plenty to cheer about. The United States Men's National Team made history this week by winning its first two group-stage matches at the FIFA World Cup, something the Americans had not accomplished since the inaugural tournament in 1930. Nearly a century later, Team USA is once again off to a dream start.
